CANINE CASE STUDY GUIDELINES

Dog reading

Thank you for wanting to complete the course for Canine MSTR®.

Just one more task to complete - your case studies!!!

Details

These guidelines will help you in preparing your case studies to complete your MSTR® for Dogs coursework.

The following details should be included:

  • Breed

  • Age and Sex – Neutered/Spayed or Intact

  • Is the dog a family pet and/or do agility training, sports, etc. ?

  • Description of issue as described by owner

  • Assessment technique and result of assessment

  • Does the scar affect the dog in daily life (range of mobility, pain or discomfort)

  • Include pre treatment assessment informationInclude post treatment assessment information

  • Photographs may be included if the scar is visible and you have a signed agreement with the pet owner to share

  • Did the dog respond in a negative or positive way to treatment and what did that look like?

  • In what ways has the treatment improved the animal (ROM, increased energy)?

  • In what way has the treatment changed the animals demeanour?

Apart from the above information you are free to construct and present your studies in as creative and interesting a way as you choose. Videos, photos etc. are all welcome as long as they show a clear improvement.

On the  Canine student resource page you will find a PDF ‘Pre and Post Treatment Evaluation Form’ for you to use. This is NOT a case study form. It is intended to help you gather information about a dog as you proceed through your treatments. It may be included as part of your case study presentation.

When you are ready submit your case studies to your Canine MSTR® Instructor, Frances Carter. (You should have her email address already.)
