About

I am the daughter of an academic marine biologist and university president who traveled the world and took me with him! This led to a lifestyle always involving travel, mixing and meeting with peoples and cultures in many places. Thusly, I became antsy if I'm in one place for too long. With that said, I live on a beautiful farm in the Pacific Northwest and return here always to find grounding and peace surrounded by green fields, animals, mountains, rivers and my flower garden.

I have always landed back on the farm. My first pony came my way when I was 6. At one point we had over 20 horses- which later I would learn the intention was for us kids to learn about the cycles of life first hand. How to bring lives into the world and how to sit with them when they left. I'm equally comfortable sitting with a dying person, dog or horse as I am supporting a vital living being into feeling more at ease and happier in their body now.

Enhancing the quality of life is a key to happiness and if I can help achieve that for someone, I have succeeded!

Horses came first. Hands on bodywork with humans came my way via a rather circuitous route: Dance minor with an eating disorder who fiercely needed to work out, so teaching Aerobics in the 1980's was the logical first step, along with body building, and personal training. Injuries led to finding other ways to strengthen and "fix" my body- Yoga, then Yoga Therapy -thus, enter Thai Bodywork (Thai Yoga Therapy, Thai Massage, Nuad Borun).... in 1998.

My curiosity about the human form led me to study with Gil Hedley in 2010- a connection that threw me right into the arms of some amazing Bowen practitioners and teachers. The interest of learning Bowen for my horses drew me to taking Bowen for Humans as a first step. 2015.

Bowen led me to meeting Alastair McLoughlin in 2018 and the rest is history!

I don't believe we "fix" our clients, but I do believe we can open pathways that present change and new levels of awareness. If you're looking for a one off session, that may or may not work- but I do know that my clients say things like:

"There is such reverence and relevance in the way you use your hands..."

"Lise, you are a body whisperer"

"When I leave your room, my nervous system is calmer"

"I think you are a wraith.... how do you do that with your hands?"

"You treated my wrist, and my hearing came back!" (I didn't know that ear was not even working properly to begin with. Luck!

Additional details that people seem to want to know, but I don't know the relevance of today::
Bachelors in Equestrian Science & Wildlife Biology with minors in Dance & Flute- Stephens College
Masters in Kinesiology, Cal State Fullerton

My greatest accomplishment and honor has been birthing and raising 3 incredible children who are successful in their chosen fields of interest and the 4 grandchildren that will inherit this world. Let's all work together to make that a good place to live.

What I know is- when we are in the same space, we'll sort out what will be best for you in the moment and you will decided if you want to return after!

Thank you for reading this far!
